The YC Hertfordshire Young Carers Project in Borehamwood is for young people aged 13-17 who have caring responsibilities. Come and meet other young carers, relax, laugh and have a bit of well-deserved 'me-time'!

What is a young carer?
Young carers are young people who help look after someone in their family and take on responsibilities and work normally done by an adult. It might be your mum or dad, grandparent or a brother or sister. That person may be ill, have a physical or learning disability, or a mental health, drug or alcohol problem.

You will meet other young carers in similar situations, share experiences, get some extra support and have some fun!

Activities include:

  • Learning about healthy lifestyles
  • Cooking
  • Arts & crafts
  • Sports

and much more!

This project is delivered by YC Hertfordshire in partnership with Hertswood Academy.
