This YC Hertfordshire’s Care Leavers' Independent Living Skills programme is for young people in care or care leavers aged 14-17 who live in the St Albans District. Come along and use our state-of-the-art training kitchen at Harpenden Young People's Centre and learn important skills that will help you to live more independently and healthily as well as build your confidence.
The YC Hertfordshire Care Leavers' Independent Living Skills programme is for young people in care or care leavers in St Albans District aged 14-17.
Friendly and supportive YC Hertfordshire youth workers will help you gain valuable life-skills through interactive and engaging activities.
YC Hertfordshire’s Care Leavers' Independent Living Skills programme is an accredited programme that consists of seven modules:
- cooking skills
- managing your money
- healthy living
- emotional wellbeing
- keeping safe
- DIY skills
When you've completed a subject area you will receive a City & Guilds qualification, which will enhance your CV.
All YC Hertfordshire youth work projects and programmes enable young people to learn new skills, increase their knowledge and develop confidence, self-esteem and resilience.
Harpenden Young People's Centre is fully wheelchair accessible.
